THE LONG AND NARROW ROAD HOME: The other day, Wednesday January 18, 2006, when I had finished meditating upon the Rosary, I heard a voice telling me to take this site down. Now, was this the voice of the Blessed Mother, or just a figment of my imagination? The truth is, I really don't know, and will not presume to give an opinion.
But what I do know is that the basic format and layout of this site has been the same for the past seven years, and that there are a number of things on this site which really don't belong here, and which do nothing but distort and misrepresent the focus of this ministry (i.e. Ve-Ves, seals of Solomon, Kabbalah, etc.); and so, I had already been contemplating this move for a little while at least.
Now for those who might think of this in terms of the time the site was last taken down (December 1, 2002), I'd like to say that this is different. It is different because this site is not being removed at the command or ultimatum of some self-important prelate afraid of offending the canonical Orthodox (who won't have anything to do with him anyway), but rather this is on my own terms, and is a result of my own decision as a Catholic Bishop, and the necessity of mature, responsible behavior as becomes my office.
Please let it be known that I am not turning my back on any of the friends I have made over the past seven years, nor am I leaving anybody in the darkness to fend for themselves, as this would be both uncharitable and irresponsible. However, I cannot seriously pride myself on my "orthodoxy" or "Traditional Roman Catholicism," unless I live it by example as well as by word.
